Benefits of ThermiVa

ThermiVa’s rising popularity can be attributed to the variety of issues it addresses, such as:

Sagging appearance: As collagen and hormone levels decrease, your labia may begin to droop, causing it to look prematurely old. Vaginal childbirth can exacerbate this problem. ThermiVa can lift and rejuvenate the labia while simultaneously tightening the vaginal walls.

Leaky bladder: Incontinence becomes more common for women as they age. Fortunately, this can be improved or resolved by tightening the tissues around the bladder, which helps to minimize urine leaks.

Vaginal dryness: Factors like age, menopause and pregnancy can aggravate vaginal dryness. If you experience this problem, you may notice some discomfort throughout the day, with pain getting worse while having sex. ThermiVa can help to remoisten the vagina for improved comfort.

Sexual dissatisfaction: Vaginal dryness and loose vaginal walls can contribute to unfulfilling sex. With a tighter, younger-looking vagina with better lubrication, you can achieve a better sex life.

Although plastic surgery centers and spas offer other types of vaginal rejuvenation procedures, most patients favor ThermiVa because of the ease and comfort of the procedure and recovery, as well as the quality of the results.

ThermiVa Procedure Details

A doctor or medical aesthetician performs ThermiVa in under 20 minutes. Because ThermiVa is a painless procedure without incisions, anesthesia is neither required nor recommended. A small, S-shaped handpiece safely emits radiofrequency energy to heat vaginal tissue. The RF wavelengths stimulate production of collagen and elastin, proteins that help tighten skin and tissue.

To achieve their desired results, women typically undergo three treatments of ThermiVa in total, each session spaced about one month apart.

ThermiVa Recovery

Because ThermiVa is gentle and non-invasive, you do not need to worry about downtime associated with this procedure. You are free to resume all normal activities the moment you leave our office — including having sex! While other vaginal rejuvenation treatments cause lingering discomfort for a few days, that is not a concern with ThermiVa.

ThermiVa Results

Results from ThermiVa are not immediate, but you should notice some tightening a couple weeks after your first treatment. Complete results are attained a few months after your final treatment. However, these results are not permanent. To maintain your results, our team recommends that you return every 12 to 18 months for a touch-up session.

Though results can vary between patients, most patients see a significant improvement to their vaginal area and are glad that they chose to undergo this treatment.

It is absolutely painless.

Because an intrauterine device (IUD) is in the uterine cavity, away from the vaginal walls, it is unaffected by ThermiVa’s RF energy. It is safe for a ThermiVa patient to have an IUD, and the treatment does not alter a woman’s chances of becoming pregnant.
Any woman over 18 who has vaginal issues that can be corrected with ThermiVa is a good candidate — this includes women who are premenopausal and postmenopausal. Women who have recently had babies and want to tighten their vaginal walls are just as likely to be patients as women who experience vaginal dryness due to menopause. If you are still menstruating, ThermiVa should have no effect on your cycle.
